Degrassi Style

The World of Degrassi and Everything that happens to live in it.

This is the NEW Degrassi World!

STYLE is such a distinguishing characteristic.

Somehow even after she's grown up, we'll always be able to picture Emma in pigtails tied with red ribbons. But in the same light, you'd never picture Alex Nuņez (which by the way is her officially posted last name) in pigtails. Just isn't happening. No way on earth.

Another question for you: why did the jock Jimmy Brooks get mocked for going out with goth-girl Ashley? What's so different about that? Style. And Stereotypes. The popular guy always goes out with the cheerleader.

Why did Manny Santos suddenly become the object of every male's affection (epp. 303- U Got The Look) when before she was just a little kid. Her style changed! No one calls a girl showing her stomach, cleavage, and thong a little kid.

A person's style screams their personality, ex. Ellie in fishnet. Will you ever see Ellie's in pink? The same day that Liberty goes Goth. I don't see either of them happening.

Style weaves in closely with Degrassi. There are a lot of different types of people out there, with different tastes. And the majority of them have been accounted for on Degrassi.

When Degrassi's wardrobe department first clothed Emma before Episode 101- Mother and Child Reunion- Season 1 premiere- first Degrassi: The Next Generation episode ever (don't even bother asking, I'm not affiliated with Degrassi: TNG except for the fact I love it.) Back to what I was saying, when Emma was first clothed, the wardrobe department didn't put Emma in a micro mini skirt that showed her butt, and a low cut sequin-encrusted spaghetti strap top. Why not? It doesn't fit Emma's personality.

So the next time you want Degrassi (which may be sooner than you think) watch closely about how Degrassi's character's clothing matches the person inside the clothing.
